In March 2007 FSCC therapists, Cynthia Turner, LCSW, LSATP and Craig James, MSW, IS talked about the concerns and problems of drug and alcohol abuse in teens with Centreville High School guidance counselors, school social workers, and administration.



Best Practices in Dual Diagnosis Counseling

Cynthia Turner, LCSW, LSATP and Craig James, MSW, IS presented Best Practices approaches for working with clients diagnosed with both mental health and drug and alcohol related issues to a group of private outpatient clinicians.

 

How Change Works: The Key to Motivation in Changing Behavior, in Renewing Relationships, in Learning

In this presentation Dr. Moorman will discuss the theory of motivation and change and how to apply this to self, relationships and learning. As a former school teacher and principal and in his work as a psychotherapist, Dr. Moorman has spent years focusing on what motivates people to change. In this presentation he will present findings from research and from his personal experiences, and discuss the application of these findings to behavioral change, renewing relationships and learning. This event is open to the public.

Dr. Craig Moorman, LPC on two separate occasions in the fall of 2006 spoke at Fairfax Community Church on the impact guilt and shame can have on our lives, relationships, and parenting styles.

In November 2006 Dr. Craig Moorman, LPC traveled to Birmingham, Alabama where he spoke for Connection Point Non-Profit about the dynamics of healthy families and the 180 Principle to Problem Relationships.

 

Stress Management

FSCC therapists, Cynthia Turner, LCSW, LSATP and Craig James, MSW, IS along with Mahsin Habib, MD of Next Health Fitness, Medical & Nutrition Centers spoke to a select group of the Loudoun County Public School’s administrative staff regarding stress management, health, and wellness in August 2006.
